Rock N' Roll

Posted by bigdoodsRoCk2743 Feb. 26, 2008 @ 5:38 PM EST

I want to throw a rockin' thumbs WAY up to AC/DC. Fourth place in VH1's 100 Greatest Hard Rock Artists of All Time behind Metallica, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zepplin, and in my opinion, one of the rockin'est bands of ALL time. Their hard driving tunes, awesome lyrics and vocals, amazing drums and bass, and Angus's INSANE solo's (can you say "finger-breaker"? Id love to see someone try some of em on Rock Band *grins*) are something the practically anyone can enjoy. Also, allbeit very belated, I wish to give major up's to Bon Scott. His vocals were amazing, and he was an alltogether awesome frontman. Rest in peace Bon. Allthough you are gone from this world, your music and your howl which put AC/DC on the map will not be forgotten. Brian Johnson was a more than adequate replacement, however, but I do prefer the Bon Scott years of AC/DC. That being said, I wish to throw thanks to a group within society which is not thanked NEAR enough for what they have given us: the African-Americans. Why, you may ask? There are two reasons: Firstly is that without the slave labour which the African slaves provided early in our country's begining, we prolly would not have been able to get ahead like we did. I would like to take this opportunity to say that the enslavement of the African-Americans was most despicable and alltogether not cool. But what's done is done, and we'll see whether or not karma truly exists. If so, the white man is screwed x/. Secondly, and most importantly in my opinon, that without black people...there would be no Rock N' Roll! Thats right! It first started out with black gospel, which then evolved to the blues and jazz, which from there morphed into rock n' roll. Little Richard was one of the first rock n' roll artists, just to give you a perspective. So to all the African-Amercans out there, I salute you and give you my utmost thanks for existing. For without you, there would have been no rock n' roll....and that would so not rock.
